EMPLOYMENT OF NURSES IN GERMANY

In order to officially work as a nurse in any clinic in Germany, it is necessary to go through an individual diploma recognition procedure (this applies to all persons, without exception, who have received education in third countries). During the individual recognition procedure, the approbation authority compares your education with a similar German education, as well as work experience in the specialty.

IMPORTANT: The approbation department recognizes the diploma in part and will indicate which subjects you need to complete during your medical training in order to fully recognize your diploma. The duration of training is usually 6 months.

The list of documents required for the recognition of a diploma is different in each region of Germany. A complete list of documents will be known after choosing a clinic and an employer, in accordance with the requirements of the approbation department of the region in which you will be employed.
